General tips for a satisfying tile purchase and installation experience:

  • Plan your project well in advance. This can't be emphasized enough. Obtain current color samples and receive your tile in advance of scheduling a tile installer. Although it doesn't happen often, there can be delays in getting the tile to you due to manufacturing or shipping issues. Some installers will charge you if they are scheduled to begin work and they have to be rescheduled because there is no tile available for them to install.
  • Installation instructions will be shipped with each tile order placed. Please call or email prior to installation if you have not received the instructions for your particular tile.
  • Many glass tile manufacturers use a paper or film face instead of mesh backing on their tile. They do this because the tile is transparent and mesh would be visible through the tile after installation. With paper-faced tile, you cannot see the front of the tile (except for the edge), prior to installation, as it is covered with paper. Please take a sufficient size sample and remove the paper prior to installation, to ensure you've received the correct tile. *We strongly recommend you hire an installer who is experienced with this type of installation, as there is a learning curve.*
  • Grout can change the entire look of the tile installation. A grout color which is close to the tile color will allow beauty of the tile to take center stage. A grout color which is contrasting tends to frame the tile and draw more attention to the grout. In either case, it's important to know what your finished grout color will look like prior to grouting. Grout color charts can sometimes give an inaccurate picture of what the final grout color will look like. We recommend grouting a separate, small sample of tile prior to grouting your entire installation. This will give a better idea of what the finished installation will look like without a total commitment to the grout color.
  • When ordering extra tile for installation, remember to include a sheet or two to save for future repairs, as it will be nearly impossible to match your dye lot in the future.
  • Familiarize yourself with our Policies, prior to purchasing.
